Curb or City right of way
Atlanta Solid Waste Services says the City collects dead animals from the curb or City right of way. ATL311 is the public request route.
Private yard or other private property
City guidance says the resident is responsible for getting an animal from a house or backyard to the curb. For a deer, private carcass-removal help may be useful when that is not practical.

A larger carcass turns “move it to the curb” into a real logistics problem.
Note whether the deer is fully accessible, whether gates or fences restrict access, how far it is from a driveway or serviceable path, and whether terrain, water, landscaping or another obstacle complicates removal.
A private-service quote should state what pickup, transport and disposal are actually included. Do not assume landscaping repair or other property work is part of the service unless the provider says so.
03 / Georgia rules
Dead-deer pickup is not just a normal nuisance-wildlife trapping job.
Georgia DNR has separate guidance for wildlife control and for deer carcass disposal. Its carcass guidance applies to people transporting or disposing of deer and requires an approved disposal method. Ask a prospective provider how it will handle transport and disposal for your specific situation.
If you use private help for a deer carcass, confirm that the provider is operating under an appropriate legal disposal pathway for deer rather than assuming a standard nuisance-wildlife permit covers the work.
04 / Highway
Interstate and highway cases are not the normal City collection route.
Atlanta Solid Waste guidance directs dead animals on interstates or highways to the Georgia Department of Transportation and provides a separate GDOT contact path. If the animal creates an immediate traffic hazard, follow the emergency direction in the official guidance.
